DAHLIA is an interactive floor designed for the crew center of KLM at Schiphol. The floor provides a meeting point where flight crews can say goodbye. DAHLIA supports this ritual by giving them a feeling of accomplishment and closure of their working day. The overall experience of the floor causes a mood change in crew members, making them feel cheerful. To do this, the floor shows several light effects to invite and attract crews towards the floor. When they are waiting for their fellow crew members, they are mesmerized by the light display. When the crew is complete and they are saying goodbye, a jubilant light effect appears.
